Daniel Tengberg, born in Vargön, Sweden started to play cello at age 3.
At age 17 he was chosen to perform Saint-Saëns rst cello concerto with the high school Orchestra, directed by Terje Tønnesen( rst concertmaster Oslo Philharmonics).
2009 he was accepted to Edsberg manor in Stockholm where he studied with prof. Torleif Thedéen. He graduated in 2014 with a master’s degree and was immediately hired as co-principal cellist in Musica Vitae chamber orchestra. Tengberg performs regularly in both Sweden and Europe and his passion for chamber music has led to collaborations with musicians like Ivry Gitlis and Midori.
Daniel has been appointed the prestigious “Vecchi scholarship” for young promising musicians.
He was also chosen by the Royal Music College in Stockholm to perform the E. Elgar cello concerto with their orchestra and Daniel Blendulf as conductor.
In 2012 he was sent to Brussels, Belgium to represent Sweden in the “Lions European cello competi- tion” which he did with great success.
Daniel has received several scholarships from The Royal Swedish Academy of Music, including the prestigious “Järnåker scholarship” in 2016.
He was one of 16 semifinalists in the 2016 Swedish soloist price.
In July 2017 Daniel will end his studies in Lugano, Switzerland by playing the Rococo Variations with Orchestra della Svizzera italiana.
