Daniel Tengberg and Daniel Hormazábal met during their studies at the prestigious chamber music program at Edsberg manor in Stockholm, Sweden. They have been performing together and abroad since 2011.
Daniel Tengberg, born in Vargön, Sweden started to play cello at age 3. 2009 he was accepted to Edsberg manor in Stockholm where he studied with prof. Torleif Thedéen. He graduated in 2014 with a master’s degree and was immediately hired as co-principal cellist in Musica Vitae chamber orchestra. Tengberg performs regurarly in both Sweden and Europe and his passion for chamber music has led to collaborations with musicians like Ivry Gitlis and Midori.
Daniel Hormazábal is one of the most interesting and successful young Swedish pianists today. He debuted as a soloist in 2013 with Beethoven´s fifth Piano Concerto together with the Royal College of Music Symphony Orchestra conducted by Simon Crawford-Phillips. In recent years Hormazábal has had an extensive performance schedule which has taken him to countries such as USA, Canada, Italy, France and the Czech Republic. In October 2016 his debut solo recital for a full house in Grünewald-salen at the Stockholm Concert Hall met with great acclaim.
Together Tengberg and Hormazábal form “Duo Daniel”.
This and next season they will present a program with music by some of the 20th centuries greatest masters, Debussy, Schnittke and Rachmaninov.
