Biography
The saxophone and piano duo Duo Hästbacka Persson has been performing since 2010 and is today one of Sweden’s finest young chamber music groups. In 2015, they were finalists in Sweden’s most prestigious chamber music competition, Ung och Lovande. 

 

Duo Hästbacka Persson has performed extensively in counties like Sweden, Finland, Estonia and England. Their repertoire extends from classical arrangements to contemporary music. They are dedicated to work with young composers from all over the world, including Australia and Iran. 

 

Individually, the two musicians enjoy very successful careers. Pianist Christopher Hästbacka was in 2016 awarded second prize in Solistpriset, the most distinguished competition for classical music in Sweden. His performance of Rachmaninov’s second piano concerto with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra was broadcasted live on Swedish national radio. Christopher is based in Stockholm where he works as a soloist and chamber musician. 

 

The saxophonist, Linn Persson, has the past years established herself as one of Sweden’s leading young saxophonist. She works as an orchestral and chamber musician as well as a soloist. Since 2014, she is the baritone saxophone player in Stockholm Saxophone Quartet, an internationally renowned ensemble specialized in contemporary music. Linn regularly performs in Sweden and overseas, in countries like Russia, Iran, Turkey and Germany.
