Duo Lavotha Hästbacka

Biography
Andreas Lavotha and Christopher Hästbacka met when they were ten years old and has since then played many concerts together all over Sweden. 

 

Andreas Lavotha, born 1990, finished year 2015 his studies at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm for prof. Ola Karlsson. As a soloist Andreas has performed with orchestras in Sweden, Germany and Spain. He is also a thought after chamber musician and has participated in festivals both in Sweden and abroad with musicians such as Roland Pöntinen and Nils-Erik Sparf. Andreas is a member of O/MODERNT Chamber orchestra which in a regular basis tours around the world and has a concert series at Kings Place in London and Musikaliska in Stockholm.

 

Christopher Hästbacka made his international debut as a 12 year old when he played for a full house i the Grand Hall of the Laeiszehalle in Hamburg at a Steinway international piano festival. He was in 2016 awarded second prize in Solistpriset, the most distinguished competition for classical music in Sweden where his performance of Rachmaninov’s second piano concerto with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra was broadcasted live on Swedish national radio. Christopher is based in Stockholm where he works as a soloist and chamber musician.
